CNLE Facilities
The community-orientated Carlswald North Lifestyle Estate (CNLE) offers many facilities for residents to enjoy.
The facilities include:
Clubhouse
A clubhouse is available for the exclusive use of residents. Overlooking a lush green lawn and equipped with a fully functional kitchen with a fridge, stove, oven, microwave, tables and chairs; it is the ideal venue for hosting a function. Bookings are made via the Estate Office and many clubs and societies utilise these premises.
Parks
We have three play park areas equipped with jungle gyms, swings and slides for the younger residents, a cricket pitch for aspiring Proteas and a 3.2-kilometre-long walkway that winds itself through the Estate past several dams, a greenbelt and through a veld area where residents can enjoy some exercise and the chance to admire the diversity of our varied birdlife.
Nature Trails
The walkway/nature trail is ideal for walking and jogging in a natural, pristine setting. A wide variety of fauna and flora abounds making it an experience in nature on its own. While walking, residents can expect to see Glossy Starlings, Red-Billed Hoopoes, African Hoopoes, Plovers, Common Fiscal Shrikes and Grey Loeries to name a few.
Gym
The two-storey gym, refurbished in 2021, is equipped with a range of modern fitness equipment where residents can enjoy a workout. On the bottom floor, you will find various weightlifting equipment while the mezzanine level houses the cardio workout machines like treadmills, stationary bikes, and a rowing machine. The gym is open between the hours of 05:00 and 23:00 with biometric access control.
Squash Court
The gym also features a squash court where the ‘little white ball’ can take some punishment. There are always plenty of residents who would love to have a game against you.
Tennis Court
The tennis court was refurbished in 2020. Floodlights allow for night-time play and residents are welcome to use the tennis coach of their choice.
Swimming Pool
Near the Clubhouse, the rock swimming pool is available to residents, providing the perfect respite in the warm summer months, whether you feel like taking or dip or just catching up on your reading with a great book poolside.
Dams
There are four dams situated around the Estate. Ducks and geese frequent the dams as do a variety of other water birds – Cormorants, Kingfishers, Moorhens and Coots to name a few. The dams below the Lofts have some Koi, Tilapia and Sharptooth Catfish (commonly known as Barbel in South Africa) while the gym dam has a population of beautiful Koi fish with astounding colours, some common Carp, Tilapia and Sharptooth Catfish. The irrigation dam is stocked with Tilapia and common Carp while a few Sharptooth Catfish are also present.
Shop
The E-Shop is a small format convenience store located by the gym complex and stocked with daily grocery essentials and convenience meals. A sales assistant will be available to assist customers during regular hours with their questions, purchases and the self-payment checkout system.
